Do you get stressed out when things are disorganized?
Do you hate it when people are late?
And what is late? 5 minutes or 15?
Do you work best under pressure?
Do you feel exhausted after spending time with certain people?
Don’t you sometimes wish that everyone could just get on board and do it the right way!?!
It’s helpful to know these things about yourself. Because chances are, other people already know them about you! The emotionally intelligent person / leader / parent / student / manager / boss / employee / partner / friend, has good self-awareness, which leads to success at home, at work, at play.
How Can I Increase Self-Awareness?
Assessments are one way to promote better self-awareness, the important first step to being more emotionally intelligent. After self-awareness, we can begin to better “manage” our emotions and behaviors. One of the most popular and widely used assessments in businesses and organizations is the MBTI. It is used around the globe, and in approximately 70% of the Fortune 500 companies.
What Exactly Is The MBTI?
The MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) is a personality assessment Tool – influenced by the work of Swiss Psychologist Carl Jung, and created by Mother-Daughter team Katherine Briggs and Isabel Myers.
It is used by businesses, universities, hospitals around the world to help people better understand self and to improve communication, decision-making, teamwork and more. No other personality assessment is backed by as much research.
How Can This Help Me?
The MBTI can help you to discover or simply clarify your strengths, your challenges, what energizes you, what drains you. It provides personal insights, and perhaps some Aha! Moments. The MBTI can help you in making career / job decisions, choosing academic majors, identifying stressors and improving
communication with your people.
How Can I Take The MBTI?
You can access the MBTI via my CPP portal. Visit my website http://bit.ly/1I5aeS7 . There you will see the MBTI pay now button. The basic report is $25.00 (Form M / Step I). I will send a user ID and password for you to access the portal, and once you have taken the assessment, I will email a report to you with your reported type results. You could also take the MBTI via the CPP website. ($49.95). https://www.cpp.com/en/index.aspx
Since the MBTI is classified as a Psychological instrument, it is required to have a credentialed MBTI practitioner interpret the results and explain what it all means.
How Can I Find Out What This All Means?
On Wednesday, August 26th at 6:30 pm CST, I will host a 60-minute Webinar (or as I like to say; WebinWOW) on MBTI. It will include a review of the history, rationale and application of MBTI. I will also discuss the dichotomies and what they mean and what they don’t mean!
Extroversion / Introversion - the most misunderstood dichotomy
Sensing / Intuition – How we take in information
Thinking / Feeling – How we make decisions
Judging / Perceiving – How we organize our life, our thoughts, our stuff, and how this is a common source of conflict in our lives
There is no cost to attend the webinar. And if you have previously taken the MBTI and remember your Reported or Best Fit type, there is no need to take the assessment again. Just have your four letter Type in mind.
