We love cookies, but don’t like a cookie-cutter approach to training and coaching. In our Company’s Purpose Statement we state our training and coaching processes are based on “Edutaining” (educating and entertaining).  We have discovered this is the best way to foster engagement, retention and implementation for those who participate in our Workshops and Performance Coaching Programs.

The 5 Steps of Our Training System:

  • We customize each of our Workshops based on the needs of the organization and the participants.  We identify and promote development of specific skill sets (i.e. Effective Workplace Communications, Conflict Management) to help employees to bring more value and to be more productive members of the organization.  We determine those needs based on feedback to survey questions sent to the participants and their managers prior to the Workshop.

  • Based on the responses to the survey, we develop a Workbook and Workshop Agenda that includes specific Assessments (i.e.360 Degree Review, Myers-Briggs Assessment), to address the particular needs and interests of the participants.

  • We provide the Workbook, containing pre-Workshop homework, to the participants prior to the Workshop.

  • The Workshop engages the participants in proactive and inclusive discussions either onsite or by webinar, hands on learning and the creation of a 30 Day Action Plan to implement the material discussed.

  • A weekly follow up occurs with each participant to answer questions, reinforce learning, and ensure implementation of the Action Plan.

  • 90 days after the Workshop, a survey is conducted to ascertain the effectiveness of the Workshop and to determine if additional training is necessary.

Our Performance Coaching System:

We provide performance coaching in two formats: Individual One-On-One Coaching and Group Coaching.  The focus of all our coaching is to improve the skill sets of the persons engaged in the coaching process so they become High Performance Individuals.

1. Individual One-On-One Performance Coaching:

  • We begin by meeting with the person for 30 to 60 minutes to determine if we are a good fit for them in the coaching process and to determine what skill set has been identified as something they need to improve thorough the coaching process.

  • If we are a fit, the individual takes specific Assessments (i.e. Strength Finders, DiSC) so we understand how the coaching process can be most effective in generating the identified performance improvement.

  • After discussing the Assessment outcomes with the person, we jointly establish an Action Plan that includes specific Action Steps, Milestones and a Timeline. These items may change as the coaching process progresses, but the skill set that needs improvement continues to be the focus of the coaching process.

  • We then establish a mutually acceptable Coaching Schedule using face-to-face and/or phone/FaceTime coaching sessions, depending on the availability and location of the person.  Our standard coaching schedule is a 60-minute coaching session every other week. Each coaching session is focused on specific issues the person needs to consider as relevant to the skill set improvement (i.e. Critical Thinking, Creativity & Innovation).

  • While each individual is unique, and the development of certain skills sets may be more difficult than others, we have found that reaching the needed improvement in the skill set through the coaching process normally requires four months of individual performance coaching.

  • Thirty days after the completion of the coaching process we meet with the person and his/her manager.  At this time, we collaboratively assess the effectiveness of the coaching process on improving the identified skill set and to determine if follow up is needed.

2. Group/Team Performance Coaching:

  • We conduct Group/Team Coaching with no more than 8 individuals in a Group/Team.  This number allows Group/Team interaction, peer coaching and allows us to concentrate on the specific improvement needs of each individual in the Group/Team.

  • After the members of the Group/Team are chosen, we meet with the Group/Team for 60 minutes to describe the coaching process and hear the members’ expectations and what skill sets require focus for improvement through the coaching process.

  • Based on the skill sets identified for improvement, each member of the Group/Team takes specific Assessments (i.e. Myers-Briggs, Strength Finders) to enable understanding of how the coaching process can be most effective in generating the identified performance improvement.

  • After discussing the Assessment outcomes with the Group/Team, we jointly establish an Action Plan that includes specific Action Steps, Milestones and a Timeline. These items may change as the coaching process progresses, but the skill set(s) that needs improvement (i.e. Team Building, Managing/Coaching Others) continues to be the focus of the coaching process.

  • We establish a mutually acceptable Coaching Schedule using face-to-face and/or phone/ or other Virtual Meeting Venue for coaching sessions, depending on the availability and location of the members of the Group/Team.  Our standard coaching schedule is a 60 to 90 minute session every other week. Each coaching session is focused on specific issues the Group/Team needs to consider as relevant to specific skill set improvement.

  • While each Group/Team is different and the development of some skills sets are more difficult than others, we have found that reaching the needed improvement in the skill set through the coaching process normally requires six months of Group/Team performance coaching.

  • Thirty days after the completion of the Group/Team coaching process we meet with the Group/Team members and their managers to assess the effectiveness of the coaching process on improving the identified skill sets and to determine if follow up coaching is needed.
